World's Favorite Arizona Tennis Resort

Enchantment Resort has been a tennis destination since its conception as a John Gardiner's Tennis Ranch in the late 1980s. As a haven for tennis enthusiasts, this Arizona tennis resort offers private lessons, activities, tennis programs, tournaments and workshops. The talented staff, many of whom are United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certified, offer instruction from beginning to advanced levels.

Guests enjoy playing on the seven outdoor courts with plexi-pave hard court surfaces. Players have one of the world's most dramatic red rock settings to serve as their backdrop for casual games, tennis lessons, clinics, or during one of the resort's seasonal tournaments. Full-service tennis pro office offers rentals, instruction, and equipment. Tennis attire is available through the Activities Center. Ask the concierge about private lessons or playing with the Pros.

Enchantment Resort offers complimentary tennis activities for guests at any skill level, from 10:00 – 10:55am Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Daily Adult Clinics are offered daily at 5pm.

For up and coming tennis stars, there is our Junior Academy at 10am daily or our Junior Clinics at 4pm daily.

Meet The Pros

Claudette Laliberte
Originally from Manchester, NH, Claudette played Collegiate Tennis at Florida State University. She moved to the Central Fl. area where she became Director of Tennis at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fl. through the mid 80's and 90's. She had been teaching and directing Tennis programs throughout Central Florida and the Tampa area prior to moving to Sedona. Claudette was also the Assistant Women's Tennis Coach at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fl for 3 seasons. The team was consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally. As a player, Claudette has held National rankings in Women's Doubles and Singles, as well as many Florida State rankings in singles and women's doubles. She has been a team member on many Intersectionals and USTA National League teams. She is a USPTA P-1 certified Elite Professional. Claudette loves tennis and continues to bring her positive, enthusiastic style of teaching to all who want to learn this great game.

Brian Young
Brian has been teaching for nearly 30 years as a coach, sports psychologist and educator. In addition to a P-1 Elite Professional certification from the USPTA, he has also been a licensed family therapist for decades. In the past, Brian has worked as a Tennis Pro at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, CA.; Club Solimar in Sonora, Mexico and a Santa Barbara City Pro in Santa Barbara, Ca. Coach Young loves tennis and enjoys sharing it with others.

John Meyers
John played collegiate tennis at Western New Mexico University from 1974-1976. He became a USRSA (United States Racquet Stringers Association) certified racquet technician in 1994 and received his USPTA teaching credentials in 2005. He began teaching tennis at Enchantment Resort during the summer of 2000. John now splits his time at Enchantment between serving as a tennis teaching pro and a hiking guide, leading resort guests through the beautiful red rocks of Sedona.

Chris Armstrong
Chris's tennis teaching career spans many decades. It began as summer jobs at Grand Rapids Racquet Club and Cascade Country Club in the state of Michigan where Chris grew up. In the 1980's, he turned it into a profession starting with Peter Burwash International, an international tennis resort management company and Rick Macci Tennis Academy. In the 90's, Chris return to his adopted state of Iowa to teach community tennis in a small rural town of Fairfield, Iowa. After 12 years, he moved to Sedona Arizona and continued his career at the Sedona Racquet Club, the Enchantment Resort and Poco Diablo Resort where he continues to teach today. "I hope that I can bring an excitement to learning the game of tennis. The more one knows the better one becomes and the greater the joy that can be experienced"

Wayne Emerick
Wayne is a USPTA Elite Professional and USA Tennis High Performance Coach. He was a former Head Coach at the USTA National Player Development Training Center in Albany, New York and USTA Eastern Coach of The Year. Wayne coached college tennis at Union College in Schenectady, New York and Colorado College. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College where he was a member of the Men's Tennis and Alpine Ski teams. Wayne also has an MBA from Cornell University Johnson School of Management.
